Day 3 we woke up at 5:30 a.m. and had to leave the campsite by 7:00 a.m. during that time we had breakfast, made lunches and hopped on the van to Husum we met Jeanette Burkhardt she gave us a quick little tour to Husum falls and it’s about 45 degrees year round and steelhead and salmon jump up the falls Jeanette then later took us to where Condit Dam used to be it was being built in 1912 and it was finished in 1913 then 100 years later in 2013 the Condit Dam was removed because of built up sediment and the electricity that was being used isn’t really in use anymore, we took a hike to where the dam used to be and we took some pictures, after the little hike to the dam it was lunch time and so we went to a park and ate lunch after we ate lunch Jeanette took us for another small hike and it was an area where it has been damaged from the dam removal so that area is vulnerable and they have natural plants growing and some of them are growing but most of the plants didn’t make it so they need more time to have more plants grow in natural order, Jeanette then took us to Underwood and we met Johnny jackson he talked to us about how in the early 1930s and 1940s that Underwood was a village and it used to be full of his people, he went to court about his land because they were trying to take his land he went to court 3 times for it, but he also mentioned that there used t to be a lot of fish in the water before they built the Bonneville Dam it slowed the fish going to underwood. I had a good day I learned a lot about the dam, I learned the way it used to be in Underwood with the village and how there used to be a lot of fish in the area before the Dam.
